VanDemark & Lynch, Inc. is pleased to announce that Stephen L. Johns, P.E., P.L.S. was named 2014 Engineer of the Year by the Delaware Engineering Society at the Engineers Week Banquet held on February 20, 2014.  The Delaware Engineering Society presented this prestigious honor to recognize Mr. Johns’ public service involvement, advancement of the engineering profession, and his contributions to the community.

Mr. Johns graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1976, and obtained a Master in Business Administration in 1990.  Mr. Johns started his career working for Mann-Tally, Inc., went on to be Port Engineer for the Port of Wilmington, and finally joined VanDemark & Lynch, Inc., where today he is one of the owners and manages engineering operations.  Mr. Johns takes the challenge of solving engineering problems seriously and enthusiastically, and enjoys mentoring the engineering and surveying staff.

In addition, Mr. Johns finds time to give back to his community by contributing a multitude of volunteer hours to many organizations, both within and outside his professional circle.
