Delaware Valley Development Corporation (DVDC) purchased the Webb Farm in London Grove Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania with the goal of creating a residential subdivision. DVDC hired VanDemark & Lynch, Inc. to provide planning, surveying, and engineering design to develop the site into a subdivision in accordance with the Township, County, and State regulations.
VanDemark & Lynch conducted a survey of the property and developed a plan for the subdivision by assessing the site constraints (wetlands, slopes, view sheds, woodlands, and soil types), and locating house sites to minimize impact to the natural resources of the site. The most difficult design aspect of the project was stormwater management. Our final design included 23 terraced infiltration basins and, in areas of heavy soils, eight constructed wetlands. The final constructed subdivision includes acres of naturalized meadows (infiltration basins) and healthy wetlands, providing a beautiful backdrop of wildlife habitat for the neighborhood.
